Private Nursing & Specialty Care FAQs
What is a private nurse?
A private nurse is a personal medical provider that can provide you or a loved one with 24-hour care anywhere you need it. Whether you need an at-home care provider or need an attendant while traveling abroad, our team of experienced nursing professionals can provide you with the care you need.
When partnering with Boston Private Nursing, a customized care plan is tailored to your specific needs. This allows for a more flexible lifestyle while focusing on individualized care.
What does a private nurse do?
Your private nurse’s responsibilities will vary depending on your needs. Private nurses are able to perform any service that falls under the scope of a registered nurse as well as helping patients with their activities of daily living. This includes bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and performing medical services as necessary.
Some of our patients include hospice patients in need of end-of-life care and post-operative patients who are recovering from surgery and need help around the home.
When would a patient need 24-Hour Care?
Patients with medical conditions or those who are at risk of suffering a serious medical event greatly benefit from 24-hour nursing care. Nurses are trained to detect subtle changes in a clients status and can respond accordingly. For many patients, having this safety net provides peace of mind. Our staff works in shifts to ensure a trained nurse is always ready and alert to assist our clients.
Remember, we personalize our service based on your needs. If you do not think you need 24-hour care, we can arrange a schedule that caters to your preferences.
What services do you provide?
Our team includes highly trained nurses from multiple disciplines. We provide our clients with a nurse whose skills and experience best match their needs.
Visit our services page for more detailed information on the different types of nursing care we provide.
Do you accept insurance?
As a private nursing agency, it is difficult for us to work with insurance providers, however, we do work with long-term care policies. We perform a variety of services for patients with different needs. The full scope of our service cannot be neatly categorized into insurance coverages. The tradeoff, however, is that our clients have more control over their plan of care.
How do I know if my loved one needs long-term care?
Signs that a loved one may need long-term care include difficulty with activities of daily living, memory loss, chronic illness, frequent falls, and the need for round-the-clock supervision or medical attention.
What are the benefits of long-term care provided by specialized nurses and aides?
Specialized nurses and aides can provide personalized care tailored to the unique needs and requirements of each client, ensuring dignified, discreet, and competent care for conditions such as post-surgical care, chronic diseases, and other medical conditions.
